Knysna Sport Academy

playing for the sake of the game

Under coach Iain Coetzee, who also coaches SWD U/11 and U/13, and assistant coach Conwin Hendricks, our cricket development program is doing extremely well.

Practice sessions are well attended, and the youngsters are improving all the time. We have boys from Plettenberg Bay and Sedgefield and Knysna attending practices.

Our coaches also oversee cricket development at Sunridge Primary School and the Academy arranges fixtures for this team.

Our players participate in the annual Sport at Backward Point Cricket Festival during the September school holidays, organised by the founder of the Knysna Sport School, Keith Cretchley, and the largest of its kind in South Africa. KSA hosts a number of matches at the Academy.

In the past 10 years, a total of 10 Knysna Sport Academy Cricketers received SWD Colours.

In 2019, one of our former students, Tristan Stubbs , was selected for the SA U/19 Cricket side, a very proud moment for our Academy. Tristan is currently playing for the Warriors franschise.
